BMW Ghost Immobiliser
The Ghost utilizes the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This stops thieves adding an additional key or replacing the ECU to bypass your security system as it requires a correct PIN code to start the engine.
Like other immobilisers, unlike other immobilisers, the Ghost does not use LED indicators or key fobs. It relies on the buttons of your vehicle to let you to enter a unique sequence of disarming that you only know.
Stop & Start
If you've ever driven a brand new BMW or used the stop-start feature, you may have noticed that after stopping the engine will continue to continue to run for around 30 seconds after releasing the brake pedal. This is due to the BMW engine management system continuing to monitor your vehicle for a signal from the ignition key, and when this signal is detected, it will keep running. Our BMW ghost immobiliser, which is a next-generation device, doesn't require cutting OEM wires or install aftermarket alarms and key fobs. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network and is programmed with an unique PIN code that can be accessible through buttons on your car. This allows you to enter a specific key push sequence that isn't found available in the usual menus for media, like volume up/down, source, cruise control or aircon on and stops your car from starting unless it is entered. Service / Valet Mode
The Ghost is a market leading immobiliser designed to prevent your vehicle from being stolen by key cloning and hacking. It works by utilizing the vehicles factory buttons to create an individual sequence of pushes that only you can identify, much like pin code security on your mobile phone. It's subtle, extremely effective and can deter even the most determined thieves!
When parked at your home or in a meeting and greet situation in a meeting and greet situation, the Ghost can be set to service mode. This allows you to start the vehicle with your keys but prevents the engine from restarting until the correct code is entered. This is great for customers who have to hand over their cars to valet service companies or trusted family members or friends. It also lets you bring the vehicle into the garage for servicing etc without having to worry about it getting damaged or stolen by a mechanic whilst you wait.
When the service/valet mode is activated and enabled, your BMW will not be able to drive once it is started. This stops anyone else from attempting to drive it while you are away. Once you return, the car will revert to normal and will not be tampered or stolen again.

Anti-Hijack
With high-tech thieves becoming more and more sophisticated, the security technology has to change, that's why Ghost has developed this discreet and discreet immobiliser. It is designed to stop thieves from putting in a key or replacing the ECU to start your car and drive it off. Ghost links up to your CAN data network and utilizes the buttons in your vehicle (steering wheel and centre console as well as door panels) to create a unique push sequence that requires to be completed before the engine can start.
This will activate the anti-hijack feature and, once it is activated, any attempt to start the engine will be immediately stopped. Once the system detects that the vehicle is no longer moving, it will honk the horn and flash the indicators. If it is unable to identify the correct code it will also stop the engine (where it is). We can connect the Ghost device with your mobile app to enable remote control of keyless start and go functions. The system allows you to start the car by selecting drive, then leave the service mode without using your key fobs. You can also track your vehicle's location on an interactive map on your smartphone.
The Ghost can be fitted under the dashboard or within the center console. It is completely secure and untouchable and does not require extra wiring. The device is connected to the vehicles CAN Data Network (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a personal PIN code is inserted into it. This pin code must be selected before the vehicle starts. This will prevent thieves from gaining access to the system using an unauthorized clone or replacement ECU.
If the vehicle is stolen in any way, the Ghost will go into a service mode and disables all functions unless a PIN code is entered or you make use of the mobile app to disarm it. This feature was developed to protect you vehicle from high-tech thieves who use relay boxes to take it. It also stops thieves from being able to use their mobile phone to turn on your sat nav system or mp3 player to locate your car!
Ghost can also stop 'Relay Style Frequency Amplification'. This is the most common method of stealing a car with a keyfob which has been duplicated or stolen through hacking. Ghost can help you prevent this kind of theft by installing a device called Secure-A Key inside your vehicle. The device installs inside your vehicle's key-fob and removes the battery after a few minutes of inactivity, this is possible on all modern PKE key-fobs.
